Plan
These pages cover the frame of a plan. Scenarios are the parallel versions of a household you compare, and what is shared between them. Plan Start Date is the day every figure is stated as of. People and Life Events covers the two people, children, a spouse’s death, and a move. Milestones and Timing explains how every dated input is anchored to a year, an age, a life event, or a condition the plan reaches on its own.
- Scenarios — A plan is one or more scenarios compared side by side. Almost everything lives on each scenario, including accounts, income, expenses, actions, marital status, and residence. Only birth dates, the plan start date, and the plan-wide simulation and heir tax settings are shared. Editing one scenario never changes the others.
- Plan Start Date — The day the projection begins and the day every figure in the plan is stated as of. Starting mid-year makes the first projection year a partial one. Returns, income, expenses, and debt interest all count only from the start date forward.
- People and Life Events — The two people in a plan, their life expectancy, marital status, and children. What changes when a spouse dies, when the household moves to another state, and how the heir tax rate is used.
- Milestones and Timing — How every dated input in a plan is anchored. Static anchors on a year, an age, or a life event. Milestones that fire on an age, a year, or a condition the plan reaches. Effective periods, month precision, offsets, and recurrence.
